ADAMS TOWNSHIP – A seven-run second inning propelled Clinton-Massie to a 10-5 win over SBAAC American Division rival Batavia Tuesday in a Division II Cincinnati Sectional game at Paul Schwamberger Field.

The Falcons, 14-7 on the year, will play at Wyoming 5 p.m. Thursday in the second round of the tournament. WHS is the No. 5 seed. CM is the No. 7 seed.

Down 2-1, Massie pushed seven runs across on six hits in the second to take control of the game. Batavia scored single runs in five innings.

The two teams split their SBAAC games during the season.

“We knew it would be a tough win,” CM coach Brian Camp said. “They do a good job of getting it (the ball) in play. We knew our defense would be a big part of us winning this game.”

Bryan Kennedy picked up the pitching win, despite walking five.

Tyler Lewis scored three times, had two hits and drove in a run for the Falcons.
