In 4-0 loss, EC lapse gives No. 1 seed just enough

INDIAN HILL – East Clinton went toe-to-toe with the No. 1 seed Wednesday before falling 4-0 to Cincinnati Country Day in a Division III Cincinnati Sectional game at CCD.

“We had the game right where we wanted but couldn’t execute,” EC coach Brian Carey said. “The future looks bright for East Clinton baseball. I wish our seniors Zachary Mitchell, Austin Arellano, Austin Rolfe and Robert Norman the best.”

An East Clinton error in the sixth broke a 0-0 tie and allowed the Indians to score three unearned runs.

The lapse spoiled a strong pitching out by Matthew Hall, who was solid for five innings.
