GOSHEN — East Clinton conquered one task Monday. On Tuesday, they’ll see if they can conquer another.

The Astros won the SBAAC National Division 18-hole end-of-year tournament Monday at Eagles Nest Golf Course.

On Tuesday, on their home course at Snow Hill Country Club in the final nine-hole divisional of the year, East Clinton will look to overtake Clermont Northeastern and claim the 2019 National Division boys golf championship.

East Clinton trails Clermont NE by 23 strokes and Georgetown by six strokes.

After the second round of divisionals, East Clinton’s deficit was 42.

“Proud of how the kids have battled back,” EC coach Mike Deters said. “Hopefully at Snow Hill we can do our personal best and pull it off. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that the kids pull it off. Hopefully it’s not too little, too late.”

Gage McConahay has 16 stroke lead for National Division individual honors with 235. He was tournament medalist with an 82.

Blanchester was led by Brian Miller who had an 86.
