EC freshman volleyball 3-0 at Lakota West quad tournament

WEST CHESTER — The East Clinton freshman volleyball team won the Lakota West Freshman Volleyball Crazy Quad tournament with a 3-0 record Saturday.

Coach Bob Malone said his squad played with great effort and intensity. “They showed a lot of heart,” he added.

East Clinton defeated West Carrollton 25-14, 25-13, Hamilton 25-20, 25-9 and Princeton 25-18, 25-11.

Trinity Bain had eight aces, six kills and eight digs. Eryn Bowman finished with 12 aces, seven kills, five digs and a set assist. Cadence Howard chipped in with two aces, four kills and two digs. Lauren Stonewall recorded 10 aces, four kills, four digs and eight assists.

Savannah Tolle’s final numbers were four aces, three kills, 15 digs and an assist. Aubrie Simpson served well the entire day and finished with five digs, Malone said. Kami Whiteaker had 13 aces, six kills, four digs and nine assists.
