Goshen outlasts BHS in marathon match

GOSHEN — The Blanchester volleyball team came up short Tuesday in its non-league match against Goshen 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 24-26, 12-15.

“The girls started off a little slow but once they got going they played really hard and fought until the very end,” BHS coach Jenna Weisflock said.

Caili Baumann had a strong night at the net with 16 kills and five blocks. She also had 15 points and three perfect passes.

Holly Scott had 21 points, two digs and 21 assists. Ally Davis finished with 11 points, a dig, 17 perfect passes and eight kills. Madison Creager led with 20 points to go along with a dig, 11 perfect passes and three kills. Makayla Lanham had three digs and three perfect passes.

Emma Falgner chipped in with a dig and two perfect passes. Ainsley Whitaker recorded two perfect passes, an assist and three blocks. Hailey Mulvihill had 11 pints, two kills and four blocks. Summer Schutte was credited with 14 points, four perfect passes, nine assists and a kill.
