BLANCHESTER — Three players scored two goals as Blanchester defeated Clermont Northeastern 7-2 Thursday in SBAAC National Division play at Barbour Memorial Field.

Cameron Gibson, Taylor Cochran and Carter Stevens scored twice and Reagan Burch added another goal for the Wildcats. For Cochran his first goal was his first goal of the season.

Burch had two assists while Stevens, Cameron Skidmore, Jacob Haun and Colton Wilson had one assist each.

Blanchester is 3-6-2 overall and 3-4-2 in the National Division.

“This was a very nice win for us,” BHS coach Andrew Freeman said. “It has felt like we’ve been right there in many games this year but couldn’t get over the hump.”

The Wildcats trailed 1-0 and 2-1 in the first half then reeled off six unanswered goals in the second half.

“Our defense did a great job to shut them down in the second half along with keeper Zach West having 16 saves,” Freeman said.
