Quakers settle for draw at Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. – The Wilmington College men’s soccer team could not gain the edge over Anderson in a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon.

With the draw, the Fightin’ Quakers are 7-2-1 while the Ravens are 3-6-1.

Wilmington opened the scoring in the 29th minute with an Ian Molfenter goal, assisted by Zach Burgmeier. WC led until the 69th minute when Daniel Collins scored the equalizer.

Neither team scored in the two 10-minute overtime periods, and the match ended in a draw.

The Quakers outshot the Ravens 21-10, including a 4-2 edge in shots on goal. Wilmington also had a huge advantage in corner kicks, 12-4.

WC keeper Felix Maurer had just one save while Ravens goalkeeper Caleb Oliver recorded three saves.

Wilmington will open OAC play 7 p.m. Saturday at home against Heidelberg.
