GOSHEN — A six-goal first half Saturday propelled Goshen’s girls soccer team to a 7-0 victory over Blanchester.

The Lady Warriors got the scoring started early, taking advantage of an injury to BHS keeper Lacie Tedrick to score two quick goals in her absence.

Goshen continued the offensive assault later in the first half, adding four more goals to take a 6-0 lead into the intermission.

Blanchester had a chance to score before the half, as Becca Kratzer drew a penalty on a foul in the box. However, the penalty attempt hit the post and rebounded away from the goal.

BHS head coach Kurt Ballinger highlighted the play of Rylan Coyle. Normally a forward, she was forced into defensive duties due to injuries. Ballinger said Coyle, “was a bright spot for Blan with her aggressiveness.”

Tedrick and Alyssa Griffith each had five saves in goal for the Lady Wildcats (2-10).
