CM volleyball rallies for 4-set win over EC

LEES CREEK — Clinton-Massie down East Clinton 22-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-14 Wednesday on Senior Night at the EC gym.

Massie is 15-7 for the regular season while East Clinton drops to 11-6.

“We jumped out with a big lead and just couldn’t keep things on our side,” CM coach Stephanie Reveal said. “The girls knew they let that set slip through their fingers so they were determined to keep the momentum the remainder of the match.”

EC won the first set 25-22 but CM completed the win with three convincing victories.

For Clinton-Massie, Carly Moritz had 22 points, nine of which were aces. She also had seven kills and 16 digs. Hannah Doss had two points and four digs. Mackenzie Peters chipped in with a kill, a dig and a block. Kayla Drake had a kill and a dig.

Kennedy Thompson had seven points, 31 assists and two digs. Delaney Miller finished with four points, five kills, two aces and 13 digs. Rylee Richardson had 12 points, 16 kills, 15 digs and five solo blocks. Cadin Reveal contributed 11 points, 15 kills, three aces and 22 digs.

For East Clinton, Libby Evanshine led the way with 12 kills, five aces, followed by Gracie Evanshine with seven kills. Kiya Byrd had four kills and Myah Jones had four kills and 20 assists. Katrina Bowman had nine assists.

Emma Malone dominated the back row with 12 digs. Rhylee Luttrell played a great game for the team playing at both the front and back rows.

The EC seniors are Kiya Byrd, Myah Jones, Emma Malone and Rhylee Luttrell.
