LEES CREEK — The Blanchester Middle School football team defeated East Clinton 30-0 Wednesday in the season finale for BMS.

The Wildcats had more than 200 yards rushing. Coach Dan Peters said, “The way this group of kids has played through all the adversity this season and still finish with a season to be proud of, shows the kind of character these kids have. They never give up and play to the final whistle.”

Bryce Sipple had 75 yards rushing, a pair of two-point conversions and a rushing touchdown for Blan while Chase Barnes totaled 64, a two-pointer and a touchdown. Seth Perkins had 44 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, the Wildcats held the Astros scoreless, mostly due to the secondary play of Michael Mulvhill who had two interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown.

“I have mixed emotions this time every year,” Peters said. “The kids that are moving up will be missed but the kids that are coming in are the next chapter. That’s the joy of being a coach at this level. We get to watch these kids grow and develop at the next level.”
