MARIETTA — The Wilmington College volleyball team won its first set this season in Ohio Athletic Conference competition, but Marietta College won the other three sets in convincing fashion as the Pioneers downed the Fightin’ Quakers 25-8, 25-6, 23-25, 25-13 on Saturday.

Taylor McCuistion led Wilmington with 10 kills while Mariella Szrom tallied seven kills. Summer Wilbur assisted on 20-of-26 kills while Karley Schlensker added 24 digs from the back row.

Three Quakers — McCuistion, Wilbur and Adrianna Middleton — had multiple service aces.

Marietta improves to 13-12 overall and 2-3 in OAC play with the win while Wilmington dips to 3-20 and 0-5 in conference competition. The Quakers head to Otterbein University on Tuesday.
