Five county golfers, coaches earn SBAAC top honors

Clinton County swept top player honors in all three SBAAC golf divisions this fall.

Jack Murphy of Wilmington in the American Division boys, Gage McConahay of East Clinton in the National Division boys; and Clinton-Massie’s Gabby Woods in the girls were all players of the year.

Phil Gilmore of WHS and Tim McGraw of CM were coaches of the year.

In SBAAC girls golf, Lilly Middleton also was first team along with Madi Arnett of Goshen; Sadie Hoeppner, Taylor Shumard and Hailey Stegemann of Clermont Northeastern.

Taylor Anderson and Pearl Spurlock of Massie were second teamers as was Blanchester’s Ashley Benne.

In the American Division boys golf honors, Murphy was joined on the first team by Brady Evans of Wilmington; Jack Neineke and Jackson Miller of New Richmond; Tabor Tesmer of Western Brown; and Austin Hensley of Batavia.

Braydon Conley and Brady Leathley of WHS and Dakota Gasaway and Ethan Johnson of CM were all second-team picks.

In the National Division boys golf honors, McConahay was joined by Blanchester’s Brian Miller; Clermont Northeastern’s Jake Ansteatt, Foster Kuntz and Austin Yeager; and Georgetown’s Austin Meranda.

EC had Evan Stewart and Quinton Tolle on second team while BHS second teamer was Logan Heitzman.
