Flaugher first WC wrestling placer at BW

BEREA – The Wilmington College wrestling team finished 10th place at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational Saturday.

Jaymon Flaugher was a bright spot for Wilmington as he took fifth in the 165-pound weight class. After losing his first match to Spencer Head of Mercyhurst Northeast, Flaugher won his next three, only to fall to conference rival, Benjamin Hooff of Baldwin Wallace.

This set-up a rematch with Head in the fifth-place match. This time around, Flaugher came out strong and pinned Head in 50 seconds. ,

Five other Quakers competed in the invitational — Zack Gutknecht (125 pounds), Adrian Salamone (141 pounds), Chris Beltre (149 pounds) and Clayton Schirmer (157 pounds).

The Quakers return to the mat Dec. 7 for the Ohio Northern University Invitational.
