BLANCHESTER — Williamsburg started fast and finished strong Monday in a 69-33 win over Blanchester in SBAAC National Division girls basketball action at the BHS gym.

“I told the girls before the game that Williamsburg doesn’t try to fool anyone,” BHS coach Bradon Pyle said. “They are going to look to get out in transition and look for layups and catch and shoot threes. That’s what they did and they do it so effectively that if one of our girls are late in her first step or read, it’s an easy bucket for them.”

Pyle said WHS is very talented and well-coached but his team played hard to the end.

“Our girls battled despite being in an early hole,” he said. “I think if we can clean up some things and be more diligent in our assignments, there are good things ahead for us.”

Holly Scot had 10 points and Lana Roy added eight points and a “very scrappy” eight rebounds, Pyle added.
