Bethel-Tate bounces East Clinton in National opener 65-21

LEES CREEK – East Clinton turned the ball over 32 times Monday in a 65-21 loss to Bethel-Tate in the SBAAC National Division opener at the EC gym.

“We showed our inexperience at times against their pressure,” EC coach Jeff Craycraft said. “Bethel-Tate is a veteran team with their top seven players returning from last year.”

East Clinton, on the other hand, is a very young team.

“We had quality shots in first half and they would not fall,” Craycraft said. “We need to cut down on our turnovers to get more shot attempts. We will continue to work on fundamentals to improve team efficiency.

“We did handle their full court pressure well but we are rushing when we are running our half court offense. We need to be more patient offensively. We are a young team and it will take some to learn all the different options and how to take advantage of them.”

Libby Evanshine had nine points and Jaden Murphy added five for East Clinton. Allie Creachbaum led with five rebounds while Kami Whiteaker had three assists and two blocks. Gracie Evanshine came up with three steals.
