Hurricane tips off season, OVHC Friday at Mason

Under the direction of first-year head coach Matt Kramer, the Wilmington High School boys basketball team will begin the 2019-20 season Friday in the Ohio Valley Hoops Classic.

The Hurricane will tip off the season and the OVHC 12:30 p.m. Friday against Licking Heights at Mason High School as part of the sixth annual event.

Wilmington will be led by Cam Coomer and Matt Butcher as the Hurricane begins the Kramer era. Previous head coach Michael Noszka is now head coach at Cincinnati St. Xavier.

The OVHC features 11 games Friday and Saturday at Mason. Tickets are $10 and are good for all games on the day purchased.

Following the WHS game, the OVHC will have the following schedule:

• 2:15 p.m. Friday, Winton Woods vs Roger Bacon

• 4 p.m. Friday, Lakota East vs Taft

• 5:45 p.m. Friday, Moeller vs Lutheran East

• 7:30 p.m. Friday, Mason vs Carmel (Ind.)

• 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Cin. Hills Christian vs Fairland

• 1 pm. Saturday, Turpin vs Canal Winchester

• 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Marshall vs Worthington Christian

• 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Hughes vs London

• 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Woodward vs Jeffersonville (Ind.)

• 8 p.m. Saturday, Hilliard Bradley vs Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.)
