The Rodger O. Borror eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Miami Trace 34-27 Monday night.

The Lady Hurricane, 13-1 on the year, were led by Olivia Veidt who had 13 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots.

Wilmington made just 5 of 15 free throw attempts, coach Ken Fliehman said.

Karlie Morgan had 12 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three blocked shots. Jasmine Jamiel had four points, two rebounds and five steals. Sami McCord had three points, four rebounds and a steal. Sophie Blessing had two points and a rebound. Allie Kees blocked a shot while Kendra McKenna grabbed a rebound.
