Georgetown duo leads 57-42 win over Blanchester

GEORGETOWN — The duo of Torie Utter and Hailey Gregory combined for 43 points as Georgetown defeated Blanchester 57-42 Monday in SBAAC National Division play at the Brian Grant Gym.

Holly Scott had 12 points, six steals and six rebounds to pace Blanchester. Lana Roy added seven points.

Blanchester played with Georgetown 12-10 in the first quarter but the Lady G-Men outscored the Ladycats 19-7 in the second quarter and 15-6 in the third to put the game away.

“I keep telling the girls that the only team that’s beating us right now is our own (team),” BHS coach Bradon Pyle said. “We committed 20 first half turnovers. It just can’t happen and us expect to win games.

“If we can take care of the ball, we can compete with a lot of teams but when we get careless, it’s game over.”

Utter had 23 in the game, 10 of those coming in the second. Gregory had balanced scoring with six in the first, five in the second, six in the third and three in the fourth.
