The Blanchester Middle School girls basketball teams dropped a pair of low-scoring games with Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School on Monday.

The eighth grade Ladycats lost an 18-15 contest.

Blanchester coaches credited Wilmington’s defensive effort “as they made things difficult on the offensive end of the floor.”

Kaylee Coyle had five points and five rebounds for Blanchester. Shelbie Panetta finished with four points and a team-high nine rebounds. Macey Waldron had four points and four steals. Abbey Irwin and Desiree Snader had one point each. Gracie Roy and Hope Blankenbeckler continued their strong play defensively, the BMS coach said.

In the seventh grade, Wilmington was a 14-11 winner.

For Blanchester, Torie Potts had five points. Maggie Grant added four and Maddie Gillman finished with two. Alayna Davenport had a solid night on the defensive end, the Blan coaches reported.
