WHS boys stay unbeaten in American; girls lose heartbreaker

ANDERSON — The Wilmington High School boys bowling team remained unbeaten in SBAAC American Division action Wednesday with a 2,544 to 2,151 win over New Richmond at Cherry Grove Lanes.

In the girls match, Wilmington suffered a heart-breaking one pin defeat to the front-running Lady Lions 1,861 to 1,860.

Ariel Comberger paced WHS with a 385 series, including a 212 game.

The Lady Hurricane is 3-2 overall, 2-1 in SBAAC. New Richmond is 4-0 in conference play and 6-1 overall.

In the boys match, Grant Pickard was the high roller, finishing with a 467 series, games of 220 and 247. Hunter Gallion had a 237 game and Elijah Martini, who bowled 300 last week, had a 235 game.

Wilmington finished with a 1,075 first game total as four of the five bowlers had 204 or better.

The Hurricane is 4-1 overall while the Lions are 1-4, 0-4.
