BETHEL — The Blanchester High School girls basketball team was defeated by Bethel-Tate Monday night 71-32 in SBAAC National Division play.

The Ladycats are 1-7 overall, 0-6 in the division. The Lady Tigers are 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the National.

“Bethel-Tate has such a balanced attack,” BHS coach Bradon Pyle said. “They play smart and are tough to guard because they play so much inside out. When they hit shots, they are tough to defend.”

Olivia Potts scored all of her team-high eight points in the final period. Holly Scott had seven for BHS while Hailey Mulvihill had five points and six rebounds, all in the fourth quarter.

“We need to keep putting our best foot forward and working to improve,” said Pyle. “We have a lot of varsity minutes going to girls who have very little varsity experience. I’m proud of the girls being put into difficult situations and working hard to overcome challenges. Those challenges will make us better in the long run.”
