WILMINGTON — In a battle of the top two teams in the SBAAC American Division, Wilmington defeated Western Brown 2,685 to 2,538 Wednesday at Royal Z Lanes.
In the girls match, Wilmington also came out on top 1,818 to 1,734.
Ariel Comberger led WHS with a 381 set (171, 210).
The win puts WHS at 4-1 in the American and 5-2 overall. Western Brown drops to 5-2 in the division and 7-2 overall.
For the boys, Grant Pickard led the way with 487 (231, 256 games). WHS had eight games of 200-plus in the match.
The Hurricane baker series of 590 was solid but the Broncos had a 615 series.
Wilmington improves to 5-0 in the American, 6-1 overall. The Broncos are 7-2, 5-2.
