GREENFIELD — Miranda Crawford scored 7 of her 10 points in the fourth quarter Wednesday as Clinton-Massie defeated McClain 51-41 in non-league girls basketball action in the Highland County gym.

Massie trailed 35-31 going to the final period but outscored the Tigers 20-6. Crawford was the top scorer in the quarter. Massie hit 7 of 11 free throws in the finale.

“Big win for us,” CM coach Tim McGraw said. “This was our fifth game in eight days but it didn’t show. We had some opportunities the first half and didn’t capitalize but came out the second half and really played well.”

Massie improves to 2-8 with the victory.

“Any time you can go on the road and get a win, it’s great, especially against a good basketball team (like McClain),” said McGraw.

Hannah Doss led Massie with 16 points while Avery Cranmer added 11 and Mckenzie Avery, like Crawford, finished with 10.

“It was a team effort at both ends,” said McGraw.
