Blan 7th, 8th girls split with East Clinton

The Blanchester seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams split games Wednesday with East Clinton.

The seventh grade posted an 18-3 win to improve to 5-1 on the year.

Maggie Grant had eight points and Kylee Hamm finished with six. Audri Byrom scored two points. Torie Potts and Alayna Davenport had one point each.

Blan coach said the young Ladycats played well defensively and attacked the rim on offense. The team hustles, is tenacious and aggressive, the coaches added.

The eighth grade, 2-4 on the year, was defeated 42-16. The coaches reported the Blan team played hard but East Clinton is well-coached and a solid all-around team.

Kaylee Coyle led Blan with nine points while Macey Waldron finished with five. Hope Blankenbeckler had two points. Abbey Irwin and Gracie Roy played well, the coaches added. Gracie Kaehler and Annalee Miller-Steffen contributed off the Blan bench.
