EC girls stumble in 2nd half, fall to Cardinals 67-55

FELICITY – A big second half led Felicity-Franklin to a 67-55 win over East Clinton Wednesday in SBAAC National Division girls basketball action.

The loss puts East Clinton at 3-6 overall, 2-3 in the division.

Libby Evanshine led East Clinton with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Kami Whiteaker had nine points, two steals and four assists. Kelsi Lilly had eight rebounds and Gracie Boggs had seven rebounds and two steals.

Felicity is 2-4 overall, 2-3 in the National.

“Foul trouble plagued us all night,” EC coach Jeff Craycraft said. “They hit some timely threes in the fourth quarter, plus some key stickbacks.”

East Clinton led 33-31 at halftime then scored just four points in the third and were behind 44-37 going to the final period.

In the fourth, Felicity put 23 points on the board and posted the 12-point win.

“Third quarter was difference in the game,” Craycraft said. “We will need to work on our ball-handling, passing and defense during the break.”

East Clinton hosts Williamsburg Jan. 2.
