3 champs help CM finish 2nd to Jackson at McClain

GREENFIELD – Clinton-Massie had three champions and finished as the team runnerup Saturday in the Southern Hills Community Bank Invitational wrestling tournament at McClain High School.

East Clinton finished 10th in the tournament. The top finisher was Jon Cline, who was runnerup to Anthony Parks of Jackson at 182. Parks decisioned Cline 9-2 in the title match.

Cooper Rack was fourth at 113, Zachary Vest was sixth at 145 pounds.

Grant Moorman at 113, Colton Doyle at 195 and Joe Baughman at 220 were weight-class champions for CMHS.

Grant Moorman won the 113 title over Dylan Rowland of Williamsburg.

Doyle was a winner by pin in 36 seconds over Timothy Smith of North College Hill in the 195 championship.

Baughman had a thrilling win over Aaron Causey of Jackson in the 220 title bout, a 5-4 victory.

Runnersup for Massie were Cole Moorman at 106 pounds, Ethan Johnson was 120 pounds, Robby Frederick at 152 pounds

Finishing third for Massie was Reuben Mobley at 138 pounds

Matt Martin was fifth at 145 pounds and Braxton Green was fifth at 182. Miley Powell was sixth at 126 for the Falcons while Tye Phipps was sixth at 132. Cole Adams was sixth at 160.

Moorman was decisioned by Daytona Hensley of Greenon 6-1 in the championship match at 106. Johnson was second to Austin Van Allen of Jackson at 120. Frederick was pinned by Quinton Smith of McClain in 3:06 in the title match at 152.
