BELLBROOK — For the sixth year in a row, the Wilmington High School wrestling team finished second at the Bellbrook Invitational.

Ryle, from Kentucky, had 353.5 points to win the tournament while Wilmington was second with 216. Van Wert was third with 149.5.

Donovan Butler (126), Dalton Garrison (160) and Logan Current (195) won weight class titles for the Hurricane.

“We were very pleased, considering we had some sickness and did not field three weight classes at this tournament,” WHS coach Kelly Tolliver said. “Ryle brought a full line-up and dominated.”

Butler won a 7-6 decision in the finals at 126.

“This is the best I’ve seen Donovan wrestle so far this year,” Tolliver said. “He was great on takedowns and continues to improve on his ground game.”

Garrison blitzed the 160 field with three straight pins and a 10-1 triumph in the finals match, Tolliver said.

Current was unseeded at 195 and defeated the No. 3, No. 2 and No. 1 seeds in the tournament en route to the championship. He pinned Quincy Brown of Madison in the final match, Tolliver said.

Thane McCoy was runnerup at 113 for WHS while Sam Eastes was second at 145.

Third-place finishers were Carson Hibbs at 120, Dom Davidson at 138 and Kile Holland at 170. Jevon Bays-King finished sixth at 182 pounds.
