WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg remained unbeaten in the SBAAC National Division Thursday with a 59-28 win over Blanchester.
Blanchester is 1-9 on the year, 0-7 in National Division games.
Williamsburg is 10-1 overall, 7-0 in the division.
Holly Scott led Blanchester with 11 points while Lana Roy added six and Daelyn Staehling had four points and played a strong game in the post, BHS coach Bradon Pyle said.
“We are making improvements and that’s all I can ask,” Pyle said. “The girls work hard every day and they are getting better and showing the ‘want to’ to improve.”
The game was tied 8-8 in the opening period but WHS hit a three off an offensive rebound and then scored 11 more points to close the quarter with a 22-8 lead.
“I thought our girls played really well the first quarter up until that three-point shot,” Pyle said. “We know Williamsburg is a very good rebounding team and they will kill you on kick-out threes off of second chances. That play swung the momentum completely.”
