BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester girls basketball team lost its 12th straight game Monday 46-26 to Clermont Northeastern in SBAAC National Division girls basketball action.

Olivia Potts had 10 points to lead Blanchester. Hailey Mulvihill had six points and seven rebounds for BHS.

“Daelyn Staehling had a strong rebounding game with six boards and Holly Scott has four points and played well defensively,” BHS coach Bradon Pyle said. “Defensively, I thought we executed our plan well. CNE was able to extend the lead enough for us to have to come out of what we were running by stalling starting late in the third quarter. I’m proud of our defensive effort.”

The loss puts the Ladycats at 1-12 overall and 0-10 in the National Division.

Clermont Northeastern is 10-6 overall and 5-5 in division play.

Blanchester was 8 for 39 from the field.

“It’s really hard to win games when you shoot around 20 percent,” said Pyle. “We’ve been working hard in practice to improve our offensive efficiency. It’ll come if girls keep putting the time in.”
