Mulvihill leads 4 Wildcats into JH state

Four Blanchester Middle School wrestlers have qualified for the OAC Junior High School State Wrestling Championship March 21-22 in Youngstown.

Michael Mulvihill leads the Blanchester contingent as a district champion with a 28-0 record. Mulvihill is a seventh grader in the Blanchester Local School District.

Mulvihill will be joined by Caleb Sears, Zack Musselman and Tyler Miller. All four wrestlers placed in the top six during competition this past weekend in the district tournament at Butler High School in Vandalia, coach Travis Boyd said.

Sears, a seventh grade, was fifth at the district tournament and is 31-9 this season.

Musselman, who finished 24-6, was fourth at the district and is a seventh grader.

Miller is a first-year wrestler who was fifth at districts and posted a 15-5 record. He is in the seventh grade.
