WILMINGTON — The Wilmington College men’s lacrosse team posted its second straight win Saturday defeating Anderson (Ind.) 15-7 at Townsend Field.

Led by senior midfielder Zac Chucta, and senior Attacker Connor Judge, the Fightin’ Quakers took control immediately outscoring the Ravens 9-1 in the first half despite winning just 3 of 12 face-offs and three ground balls.

That senior duo, along with newcomer Justen Shaw, scored in the first quarter putting Wilmington up 4-1 and setting the tone for the rest of the match. Late in the half, however, the Ravens allowed Judge to sprint coast to coast off a clear attempt from a missed shot and score with only six seconds remaining.

The Quakers continued to dominate as they scored five unanswered goals in the second quarter. Mason Bilinovich, sophomore attacker, scored his first of the season. Wilmington took a 9-1 lead into halftime.

The third quarter continued in Wilmington’s favor, as the Quakers outscored the Ravens 4-2 and distanced themselves even further, 13-3.

Overall, Wilmington outshot Anderson 41-34 and were successful in 22-of-23 clear attempts. The Quakers also controlled the turnovers, losing the ball 12 times compared to Anderson’s 18.

The men’s lacrosse team, 2-0, heads to Earlham College for the Quaker Bowl Rivalry game 7 p.m. Wednesday.
