Hottinger qualifies to bowling district

BLUE ASH — Wilmington’s Katie Hottinger finished fourth Thursday in the Div. I sectional bowling tournament at Crossgate Lanes.

The 526 series puts Hottinger in next week’s Div. I Southwest District tournament 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Beavercreek.

As a team, WHS finished ninth overall with a pinfall of 3,107, just 81 pins away from the final district qualifying team.

Glen Este won the tournament with 3,692.

Hottinger had games of 185, 180 and 161. Her 526 series was 13th overall. Paige Weitz of Sycamore was the top individual bowler with a 606.

Chasity Asher had a 473 series (games of 145, 154, 172) was two pins away from the final individual qualifying position, which was shared by Amber Brock of Hamilton and Tai Cumberland of Lakota West, who is a first cousin to 2015 WHS graduate Jaevin Cumberland, bowling coach Joe Davis said.

Sarah Waln had a 436 series (138, 134, 164) and Hanna Lunsford had a 431 series (136, 150, 145). Harlee Shelton had a 260 series (146 and 114 games). Mason Noland had a 153 game for the Lady Hurricane.
