The Blanchester Middle School girls basketball teams split games Monday with Williamsburg to begin the 2020-21 season.
The eighth grade was a 32-24 winner.
The Blanchester coaches said the team played well defensively, forcing numerous turnovers. The win was a complete team effort, the coaches added.
Torie Potts led on the scoreboard with 16 points. Maggie Grant added 7 and Alayna Davenport chipped in with 5. Kylee Hamm finished with 4 points.
The seventh grade Ladycats lost 37-17 but played hard, the coaches noted.
Emma Hartman had 7 points while Karlee Tipton, Jocelyn Lansing, Ava George, Hailee Harris and Tobi Tedrick had 2 points each.
