The Rodger O. Borror eighth grade boys basketball team held off Western Brown Monday 39-32.

Coach Eric Conley said his young Hurricane led 31-15 after three quarters. The starting five played well, Conley added, and the team’s defense and ball movement was good.

Conley noted the play of guard Bryson Schutte whose hustle and energy carried over to his teammates.

Schutte finished with 19 points, most of those from offensive rebounds, Conley said.

Luke Achtermann and Zane Smith had 6 points each while Bryant Conley totaled 4 points. Malachi Cumberland and Jamie Conley had 2 points each.
