The Rodger O. Borror Middle School seventh grade boys basketball team handed Batavia its first loss of the season 44-39 Wednesday afternoon.

Coach Jody Drake said his squad is playing well, focusing on defensive intensity and unselfishness on offense.

Chase Fickert was top Hurricane scorer with 14 points.

Stevie Rickman added 12 points. Cam Griffith had six points and a strong rebounding game, Drake said. Michael Noszka and Carson Brown had four points each. Luke Johnson and Eddie Brooks had two points each.
