BLANCHESTER — Two regular season losses to Clermont Northeastern didn’t deter the Blanchester seventh grade girls basketball team Monday night.

The young Wildcats were 18-11 winners over the Rockets in the semifinal round of the seventh grade league tournament.

Blanchester led 9-7 at halftime and never let Clermont Northeastern within one possession in the second half. The team played well defensively, the Blanchester coaches reported.

Alison Trovillo had six points and Hailee Harris scored four. Emma Hartmann tossed in three points. Jocelyn Lansing and Karlee Tipton had two points each. Anna Rodgers rounded out the scoring with a free throw.

Blanchester will play in the championship game of the tournament 5 p.m. Wednesday in the BHS gym.
