Blan 8th grade girls complete perfect season

The Blanchester eighth grade girls basketball team capped its perfect season Saturday with a 21-17 win over Williamsburg in the SBAAC National Division tournament.

Blanchester finishes the season with an 18-0 record.

The young Ladycats led 13-2 at halftime behind a solid defensive effort, the coaches said. Even though Williamsburg had a come back in the second half, Blanchester was able to hold on for the win and earn the tournament title to go with its regular season championship.

Maddie Gillman paced the Blanchester offense with eight points. Torie Potts added six and Maggie Grant had four. Kylee Hamm finished with three points. Alayna Davenport and Audri Byrom played well in the win, the coaches added.
