Yellow Jackets sting Quakers lacrosse 31-3

BEREA – The Wilmington College men’s lacrosse team fell 31-3 at Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets started the game with 13 goals in the first quarter, led by Olin Ferguson with four goals on eight shots. Baldwin Wallace led in shots 60-15 and in ground balls 47-14. The Yellow Jackets also handled possession time thanks to winning 28-of-37 faceoffs.

Sawyer Starrett scored his first goal of the season with four minutes to go in the first quarter and Austin Young scored the second two goals for the Fightin’ Quakers.

Wilmington (0-3) will play in its first midweek match 7 p.m. Wednesday at the University of Mount Union.
