WILMINGTON — The Wilmington High School tennis team opened play Saturday in the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association state team tournament with a 3-2 win over Western Brown on the WHS courts.
The Hurricane posted a trio of wins in the singles matches while the Broncos (1-2 on the year) won the two doubles matches.
Wilmington, 2-0 on the year, will advance in the tournament to play state-ranked No. 1 Sycamore Tuesday at SHS.
Matt Keiter, Sawyer Kratzer and Jonathan Fender posted wins in singles action.
The doubles pairing of Drew Moyer and Brady Henry lost a third-set thriller 10-12 at first doubles.
