FELICITY — Olivia Potts two-out hit in the eighth inning drove home Madison Creager and gave the Blanchester softball team a 5-4 win over Felicity Tuesday in SBAAC National Division action at FHS.

Blanchester (1-3, 1-1) had to work out of a two-on jam in the bottom of the eighth but Rianna Mueller induced a popup to second baseman Emma Case to preserve the victory.

Mueller struck out nine and gave up just two earned runs for the win.

Potts finished with three hits and two RBI.

“It’s nice to get that first win and to come from behind and win in extra innings makes it even better,” BHS head coach Jamey Grogg said.

Blanchester trailed 4-1 after three innings but had a run in the fourth and two in the fifth to tie the game, 4-4. Neither team scored again until the eighth.

“Rianna followed up (Monday night’s) performance with another solid effort on the mound,” Grogg said. “We played as well (defensively) as we have all year.”
