Hillsboro outlasts Blanchester 14-12

BLANCHESTER — Hillsboro and Blanchester combined for 26 runs and 19 defensive errors Tuesday with the Indians coming out on top of the Wildcats 14-12 in a non-league baseball game at Bott Field.

Blanchester had nine errors and scored 12 runs on just seven hits.

“We need to become more consistent,” BHS head coach Aaron Lawson said. “We will look sharp for a few innings and then the wheels fall off. We will start falling behind hitters and kick it around in the infield. In order for us to come out on top we need to play a clean, seven inning game. If we do make an error or two they can’t be compounded or costly. We gotta find ways to get out of innings and not let opponents put up awkward numbers.”

The Wildcats are now 3-3 overall.

Alec Richardson had a couple of hits and scored twice. He also had three stolen bases.
