Cardinals dump Astros in five, 11-1

LEES CREEK — Felicity banged out 11 hits Friday en route to a five-inning 11-1 win over East Clinton in SBAAC National Division baseball at the EC diamond.

The Astros are 4-4 overall, 1-2 in the division. The Cardinals are 3-3 overall, 1-3 in the division.

“We continue to make small errors to put our pitchers in a jam,” EC head coach Brian Carey said. “Those small miscues such as errors, misreading fly balls and strikeouts continue to hurt us.”

Carey said he was pleased with the effort of freshman Skylar Slagle, who made plays at shortstop and also had his first varsity hit.
