GEORGETOWN — Blanchester held off a late Georgetown offensive effort Wednesday and notched an 11-5 win in Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference softball action.

Blanchester is now 3-5 overall and 3-2 in the National Divison.

Maddie Curless (3-3) picked up the pitching win and had two hits and three runs batted in at the plate. Elecia Patton, Kassidy Abney and Dakota Demitt also had two hits each.

“I liked our aggressiveness at the plate tonight,” BHS coach Jamey Grogg said.. We stepped in the batter’s box ready to swing and we attacked the ball. But, we were also patient and did not chase too many pitches out of the strike zone.”

Blanchester led 8-1 before the Lady G-Men made things interesting. Blanchester’s defense was “more focused” in this one and helped keep Georgetown at a comfortable distance.
