The East Clinton junior varsity softball team was defeated by Batavia 12-2 in five innings Saturday.

Ashlyn Tate and Savannah Tolle pitched for East Clinton.

Tate, who had a double, and Megan Hadley scored runs for East Clinton. Trinity Bain had a triple for EC.

“We definitely saw a lot of improvement this game,” EC coach Matthew Melnek said. “We fielded the ball better than we have. We now need to work on getting our bats going earlier and more consistently.”
