Four Quakers earn OAC soccer tourney honors

Four Wilmington College soccer players were named to the Ohio Athletic Conference All-Tournament teams for men’s and women’s soccer.

Taylor Huffman and Lauren Galloway on the women’s side and Ian Molfenter and Zach Burgmeier on the men’s side earned top honors.

Huffman led the Fightin’ Quakers offensively with five goals, three assists and 13 total points. Huffman assisted on Wilmington’s game-winning goal in an 1-0 tournament quarterfinal victory over Baldwin Wallace University and scored Wilmington’s goal in the semifinal loss at eventual champion Otterbein University.

Galloway played nearly 1,000 minutes in net for the Quakers, making 80 total saves and being a part of four shutouts. The Beavercreek High School alumna made 24 saves in the two OAC tournament contests.

Molftenter was one of the Fightin’ Quakers’ top offensive threats having scored four goals and assisted on another in the shortened season. Molfenter scored the game’s first goal in Wilmington’s 2-1 win over Capital University in an OAC Tournament quarterfinal.

Burgmeier scored three goals in 10 games as well as dishing out two assists as part of Wilmington’s midfield unit.
