WILLIAMSBURG — Remaining in a first-place tie, Williamsburg defeated East Clinton 10-3 Saturday in an SBAAC National Division baseball battle on the WHS diamond.

“I was glad to finally see some fire out of our boys,” EC head coach Brian Carey said. “The score doesn’t show how much better we actually played.”

East Clinton is 4-7 overall, 1-5 in the National.

Williamsburg is tied with Clermont Northeastern for first place at 5-1. The Wildcats are 8-2 overall.

“Dakota Collom played a great game,” Carey said. “He and Isaiah (Curtis) stay aggressive when on base and give us a shot to score some runs.”

East Clinton stranded nine runners on base and committed four errors.

“We need to stay focused the entire game,” Carey added.
