MADEIRA — In one of the closest flights in the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Coaches Association Coaches Classic, Wilmington finished on top of Flight G Friday evening.

With the flight played in three different locations, the Hurricane totaled 17 points while Seven Hills B team was runnerup with 14. Madeira and Milford both had 12 points.

“I was really proud of how resilient the boys were,” WHS coach Steve Reed said.

Caleb Reed at second singles and Isaac Martini at third singles were both champions with 3-0 records.

“Caleb had to come back to win his final match,” Reed said. “Isaac is becoming one of our most consistent courts.”

The Matt Butcher/Alex Lazic pairing was runnerup at first doubles as was Avery Bradshaw at first singles.

“Both doubles teams had to make adjustments to very different styles of play,” said Reed.
