Lady Falcons post 7-4 win over Lady Knights

KINGS MILLS — After nearly a week off the diamond, the Clinton-Massie softball team battled its way to a 7-4 win over Kings in a non-league game on the KHS field.

“It was nice to finally get to play,” CM coach Andy Lauer said. “We haven’t played since last Wednesday and actually haven’t been outside since then. We were a little sluggish.”

The Lady Falcons (7-0 on the year) took the league for good in the second inning. Madilyn Newton homered in that inning.

Emilie Fisher had three hits to lead the CM offense.

“Emilie hit the ball nice tonight,” Lauer said. “She carried us with some timely hits.”

Taylor Florea improves to 5-0 with seven strong innings. She struck out eight.
