Anteck extends EC track, field program season

CLAYTON — Carah Anteck was the lone member of the East Clinton track and field program to qualify for this week’s Division III Region 12 Track and Field Championship.

Anteck finished fourth Saturday in the 3,200-meter run in the Northmont District Track and Field Championship meet. She was comfortably fourth in 13:06.95.

Also on Saturday, Anteck also ran in the 1,600-meter event and narrowly missed a qualifying there. She finished fifth in 5:53.24, less than two seconds from fourth place.

East Clinton’s 4×200-meter relay team of Emma Riddle, Lauren Runyon, Jozie Jones and Kenton Deaton finished seventh in 2:01.95.

The 4×100-meter relay of Jordan Collom, Runyon, Gracie Evanshine and Jones placed seventh in 55.96. They were less than two seconds out of fourth place in a bang-bang finish at the tape.

Gracie Boggs ran 3:16.06 in the 800-meter run on Saturday. Kenton Deaton went 12-8 in the long jump while Riddle had a best of 12-0. Timmi Mahanes best in the discus was 74-5.
