Maple joins Massie trio as regional qualifiers

ST. PARIS — The Clinton-Massie track and field teams added one competitor to the Division II Region 8 Track and Field Championship meet roster.

In competition Saturday at the Division II Graham District Track and Field Championship, the Falcons Daelin Maple joined Michael Moritz, Collin Swope and Nora Voisey as regional qualifiers.

Maple was runnerup in the boys shot put with a throw of 48-6. He was 24 inches out of first place.

For the boys, in 3,200-meter run, Bryce Hensley ran 11:43.96 and Kenny Moore finished in 11:53.49. Also in the boys shot, Collin Swope had a best of 41-0.5. In the high jump, Jude Leahy tied for seventh at 5-6.

For the girls, Courtney Fisher went 74-8 and Jenna Hanlon 73-6 in the discus. In the long jump, Kaden Kimple’s best was 11-8.25 while Vada Nesbit’s top jump was 10-9. Alex Pence tied for sixth by clearing 7-6 but finished ninth based on misses.

Moritz and Swope previously qualified for the regional in the discus while Voisey advanced in the high jump.
